Asmara Eritrea - June 1st 2006

 

Not so far from the Bahti Meskerem Square, I climb another hill to look over Asmara. Later that morning I visit the recently build new residential area of Mai Chehot at the foot of this hill.

The first four days in June were the last four days of my May 2006 trip to Eritrea. Two days for the wedding and two days to prepare the return trip. Buying some souvenirs and traditional Eritrean foodstuff like taff, berbere and araki.

Nicest memory: without the help of friends or family I found the taff (seeds), and had it grinded at one of the local mills around the cereal market of Asmara.
